What’s not to like about Christianity? Eternal life. Forgiveness of sins. Love poured into your heart by the Holy Spirit. A free gift received by faith. Jesus willingly gave his life to save us from our sin. Union with a Triune God of love. Friends at church.
Christianity announces good news.
So why do so many of our family members, friends, co-workers, and neighbors experience Christianity as a disappointment?
If you ask that question – or some form of it – with a desire to listen, understand, and care (and not to start an argument or change someone’s mind), I believe you will have some great conversations.
I know an easy answer would be great, but the prompt to have a meaningful conversation might be what we need.
